Yahui Huang

Research Interests

Yahui Anita Huang holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Texas at Austin. Originally from Taipei, Taiwan, she has lived, studied, and worked across Asia, the United States, and Europe. With more than a decade of experience in developing language and cultural programs, teaching Chinese, linguistics, and cross-cultural communication, along with work in interpretation, translation, and international trade, her research examines how communication influences understanding, decision-making, and coordinated action across diverse linguistic, cultural, social, and professional contexts.  

Her scholarly interests span philosophy of language, pragmatics, politeness theory, and intercultural, interpersonal, and organizational communication, with projects including studies of Chinese politeness and pragmatic competence, contributions to the forthcoming
volume Intercultural Zhu Xi, and a new translation of the Yijing (Book of Changes).  

Her current work focuses on developing an interdisciplinary framework and practical, implementable strategies that help individuals and organizations communicate across diverse boundaries with greater reliability, strengthen collaboration and coordinated action, as well as reduce interpersonal and organizational communication risks.
